Well yes, you’re absolutely correct!

This may be a pipe dream, and there’s a fair possibility that it cannot be done.

I am only trying to learn how to exercise Rody, now that we have her back to fully sound. I have no intention of actually achieving any dressage skills, or of competing (haha), or even of attaining  even the greenest of  levels of dressage riding skills.  I only want to bring Rody back into being round, sound, and explosively athletic with the grace of a ballerina. That’s all.

I have no interest in:

1 -My personal performance, or personally competing Rody (although I would very much like to find somebody to compete her – greenhorns need not apply).

2 – Learning any skills above (a) ”walk straight until I tell you to turn,” (b) “turn when I ask you to, not when you think we should turn,”  (c) “stop when I ask you to stop,” and (d) “go when I ask you to go.”

3 – Eventually, being able to take her into a controlled, gathered trot, or even into a slow lope (oops, I meant “canter”).

The exercising of this magnificently conformed, superbly graceful  equine athlete is intended to achieve a goal: to demonstrate to the world that my pride & confidence in this remarkable, sweet and highly-focused equine dancer is well founded.

You see, Rody is probably the finest horse anybody in my family has ever owned, and ever ridden (going back about 10 generations, to President William Henry Harrison and Tecumseh).

I just could not bear to allow her to end up in a can of dogfood, which is where she was heading when I received this horse.
